Begin To Praise

feature photo

According to the Word of God, praise is the most appropriate, becoming thing that we as believers can do.

Psalm 33:1 (AMP)

1Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright, in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright in heart.

Let me warn you though, God’s idea of appropriate praise and ours may very well be two completely different things. The praise He calls for is joyous and uninhibited, and, at times, it is just plain loud.

If you do not believe it, look in the Bible and see the kind of praise that goes on in Heaven. We can read in Isaiah 6 to find out how they act in the throne room. The seraphim shout in there until the doorposts shake, and when they do, the glory of the Lord fills the house.

Isaiah 6:1-4 (AMP)

1IN THE year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple.
2Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew.
3And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!
4And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

When we get to Heaven, we are going to be praising like that as well. We are going to be leaping and praising God with every part of our being. However, we do not have to wait until then to start. We can and should begin doing so now just as the Psalmist David did.

Psalm 9:1-2 (AMP)

1I WILL praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds!
2I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High!

In summary, we must decide today to begin to praise God the way He prefers, instead of praising Him the way we like. We should release our praises joyously and uninhibitedly. What is more, rather than waiting until we get to Heaven to praise God with all our being, we need to do it now because He deserves it.

God Bless!
