Hang On To The Word Of God
Did you know that the battleground for the problems we are facing right now is in our minds and on our lips? That being said, if we will hang on to the Word of God and hit the devil with it as well as cast the care of our situations over on God, we will win.
11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
6Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,
7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Let me warn you though, hanging on to the Word of God is not always easy. The devil knows that if he does not steal it from us, we will use it to enforce his defeat.
8Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
Therefore, we should not be surprised if the devil sends an evil spirit to exalt itself against the Word of God. If we are sick, he may begin to tell us, “You are not healed because healing is not for today, and even if it were, it would not work for you. It might work for somebody else, but not you.”
If he starts to tell us that kind of garbage, we must not listen to it. We cannot allow ourselves to start worrying around about it and thinking, “Oh my, I am afraid I am not going to get healed. I sure do not feel healed. I am probably going to just get worse and worse.”
Remember, it is the Word of God that does the work, not the individual holding on to it. It will work for anybody who will put it to work through faith. It will work for us just like it worked for Jesus when He walked the earth steadfastly telling satan, “It is written!”
9Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.
10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
To summarize, regardless of what the devil tries to tell us, we must continue to hang on to the Word of God. We must tell the devil what is written concerning our situations, and let God’s Word fight its own fight. When we do, it will whip the devil every time.
God Bless!
