Heavenly Account
In America, the phrase “In God We Trust” appears on our money. I love that! However, it is important for us to put our trust in God as our Source and not in money. I have learned to sow my seed to God as an act of my faith because He is my Source.
I sow when I am facing a need and when I am not facing a need. I sow seed all the time. It is a continual seed-sowing operation because I need a continual harvest. I make certain that my tithes and offerings are up to date. I want to be current with God because I want my heavenly account to be balanced. Did you know that our giving is fruit that abounds to our account in heaven?
17Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].
If we have an account in heaven, we want to be sure we have a good balance there, not a negative balance. The Word of God also says that God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory, which is where our heavenly account is. However, if we have a zero balance, then we are in trouble.
19And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
In summary, seed is not just money. Seed involves our obedience. In other words, we need to be doing what God tells us to do. It may be giving a seed of our love, our time, a smile or a word of encouragement. Remember, what we sow becomes fruit which increases to our credit — the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to our account. Then, when we need it, God can open our heavenly account and pour us out blessings so great that there will not be room enough to receive them. That is how Seed-Faith works.
God Bless!
